Get powerful results from our most compact grinder. Heavy duty and mobile, the 1700 Series Horizontal Grinder can readily reduce a wide range of materials. The 1700 Series’ large feed opening, measures 54″ x 27″ (137 x 69 cm). When boosted by Peterson’s high-lift feed roll, the feed opening’s maximum lift of 41.5 inches (105 cm) can tackle the largest of feedstock, and allows excellent accessibility to the rotor for maintenance.
The 1700 Series Horizontal Grinder is equipped with a Caterpillar Tier IV C9.3 455 hp (EU Stage V, 339 kW) engine, or an optional, export-only C9.3B Tier III, 415 hp (309 kW) engine.
The Peterson 2700 series horizontal grinder is designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs. The 2700 & 2710D are powerful, with your choice of engines: Caterpillar Tier IV C15 580 hp (433 kW), C18 755 hp (563 kW), or optional Tier II C18 765 hp (570 kW) for export. Heavy duty and mobile, the 2710D has outstanding production throughput for a machine of this size.
The 2750D electric horizontal grinder is ideal for operations that can take advantage of stationary or semi-stationary operations. Powered by a single 600 horsepower (450 kW) electric motor, the Peterson 2750D has plenty of power. Since electric power costs are typically much lower than diesel fuel costs, electric power may just be the answer for increasing your profits.
The 4700D is a wheeled horizontal grinder designed for high-volume producers with very demanding end-product specifications. The 4700D is powered by a Tier IV Caterpillar C18 engine rated at 755 horsepower (563 kW). A Tier II, 765 horsepower (570 kW) engine is also available.

The Peterson 4750B Horizontal Grinder is the electric powered version of the popular 4700B. Highly productive and efficient, it hits the “sweet spot” in the Peterson grinder product line. Powered by twin 400 HP (300 kW) electric motors with either soft-start or Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) control packages, the 4750B is ideal for stationary or semi-stationary operations. Electric power costs are typically much lower than diesel fuel costs, and in today’s changing economy, electric power may be the answer to increasing your profits.
Peterson’s three-stage grinding process with an up turning rotor and large grate area enables the 5700 Series to produce materials to exact specifications. Powered by a Tier II or Tier IV Caterpillar C27 1050HP (772 kW) engine, or an optional Tier II or Tier IV 1125hp (839 kW) C32 engine, the 5700 Series provides the highest power to weight ratio of any Peterson grinder. The 5700D Horizontal Grinder is designed for high-volume producers with very demanding end-product specifications. The 5710D Horizontal Grinder is a tracked horizontal grinder designed for high-volume producers with very demanding end-product specifications.
The 6700 Series Horizontal Grinder is Peterson’s largest horizontal grinder, and is designed for operations that need the most durable, highest output machine. Powered by a 1125hp (839 Kw) Tier II, Caterpillar C32 engine or an optional Tier IVi Caterpillar C32 engine, the 6700 Series is designed for the toughest jobs.

The quick-change multiple grate system makes it easy to customize grate configurations to produce a wide variety of finished materials. Grates are removed through an access door on the side wall.
